A very warm welcome to The Christian Horner Fan Club; a totally cringeworthy homage to the blond bombshell who brightens our screens every GP with his bouffant hair, nervous foot tapping and cheeky repartee. Join us, you know you want to!
At the moment our main media for chat and info are Facebook and Twitter (links at the bottom of the page). If you'd like to become an official Hornette and take part in our meets, please join our group on Facebook. We are hoping to have a get-together at as many races as possible. We're all quite sane and really into F1, so don't be put off! Our members (especially those who would not normally go to races) have found it really useful getting in touch with local Hornettes to arrange outings. You'll find lots of our members are seasoned F1 fans and always willing to support their fellow Hornettes.
We DO know about the
important stuff, like cars and whatnot, but we also enjoy having a
light-hearted ponder about the merits of the best (and hottest)
Team Principal in the paddock. A man who cannot, we believe, live
without pockets.
Read on and you too will start to realise just why you NEED to become a Hornette...........
LATEST NEWS...
Drop everything, F1 is back!
Ah how we've missed the display of checked shirts and the fly away bouff. Looking crisp and fully recovered from his half marathon experience Christian is doing a good job of out smouldering SexyWebber (who is looking mighty fine) in this pic. A couple of small suggestions - maybe undo another button and roll up the sleeves?
We're not too sure about the early starts for the first few races, but if anyone is going to drag us out of bed at silly o'clock, it's the checked shirt wonder and his magnificent (slightly fluffy, slightly curly) bouff.
We had a fabulous season in 2011 meeting up with CH appreciators at races and events. Here's to 2012, the year of The Hornette.
ENJOY the action, join us on Facebook
and Twitter and get involved. We are always looking to spread the
Hornette love around the globe.
......and don't forget to check out Louise's ace RACE REPORTS
Malaysian GP Second race in and timings seemed closer than in Melbourne and it transpired that pole position doesn't guarantee the top place on the podium. Poor DiamanteBoy.
Malaysia delivered a pretty decent race. We rather enjoyed the rain delay (lots of damp hair - swoonsome) and the subsequent on track action. BeanieVet's run in with a 'cucumber' left him raita annoyed (sorry that's bad isn't it) and scurpured his chances of collecting some points for RBR. SexyWebber did rather well to finish 4th. While Fermoando Alonso took the win (this isn't an April Fool, the Ferrari found some pace from somewhere), all eyes were on Checo Perez who had an amazing drive, finishing second. So close, so close!
Next stop China. Plenty of time to tinker with the RB8 and wipe the floor with the McLarens.
No, your eyes don't deceive you. Georgie Thompson from the SkySports F1 team IS wearing a Hornette badge. How AMAZING is that! Poor Christian may not think so after he was presented with a badge at the end of the Sky F1 Show interview on Friday. We are sure that his face turned almost the same colour as his delightful pink striped shirt.
Big thanks to Ted and Georgie for being such good sports. There is no stopping th CHFC. Hope to have the full interview on here soon.
First GP of the year and it wasn't quite the 'dream' result RB are used to celebrating on a Sunday however it was still a jolly good show. The ankles weren't going half as much as the shoulders were - could this be a new theme for 2012?
Louise's ace race report will be coming soon, but in the meantime here are our stand out moments:
Diamanteboy throwing a strop about not winning.
The afore mentioned's SCARY sideburns.
Perez holding the owner of said sideburns up.
Ok, ok, there's a theme. We should stop, it's really not fair.
Hope you enjoyed the action. Well done BlondieB for a stonker of a race - a thorougly deserved victory.
Go Hornettes Becky and Justine who got the crowd behind them and made this possible. Body surfing a CHFC banner to the front of the crowd while chanting 'the banner, the banner'. Only in Australia. Fabulous job.
Ok it may not have been the perfect result in Melbourne but we were SO excited about the mention on the BBC Australian GP qualifying highlights show (see clip to the left). Not only did they show a clip of (a quite proud looking) Christian signing the banner but Jake also gave us a mention asking a slightly bemused David Coulthard if he was a member of the CHFC. This particular Hornette did a lot of excited squealing at the TV. A massive shout out to Hornettes Justine and Becky for their great work!
Slightly disappointed that Jake didn't admit to being a fully fledged member of the fan club......or at least the owner of a CHFC badge. Next time Jake, next time. Or we may have to remove your honorary Hornette status.
Let's all get behind the team for tomorrow. A lot can happen in 58 laps. FelipeBaby vs DiamanteBoy round ? (lost count).
Go SexyWebber and BeanieVet!
Before jetting off to Melbourne Christian donned his trainers and his shorts (oh yes) to take part in the Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon.
Christian joined Adrian and a large group running for Wings For Life.
The CHFC was of course on hand to cheer on Christian and co. who did very well in the baking sunshine to cross the line in just 2 hours 32 minutes. Impressive. Well done to our favourite Team Principal and the rest of the runners who raised just over £20,000 for this amazing cause.
In addition to our combined cheerleading efforts, Anne was on hand to present the WfL participants with one of her DELICIOUS CHFC cupcakes. Yum indeed. We've had plenty of appreciative tweets. Cupcakes went down a treat. Although we are still waiting for feedback from a certain Mr Ecclestone!
Hornettes kick off the new year at Autosport
Rocking his best navy blazer, CH wowed the crowds at the Autosport Show in January.
The Hornettes were
out in force spreading the word and cheering on Christian. We got a
mention during the F1 Racing interview (thanks Johnny!) and may
even have picked up a few more members. The RB7 was looking mighty
fine on the F1 grid.....and so was Christian (as
always).
The Hornettes were out in force at the Red Bull Home Run in Milton Keynes
It was a fantastic celebration of an amazing year of racing, record breaking and bouff-tastic shirts. A few of us were lucky enough to meet the man himself and he appears to be getting rather used to his 'army' of admirers and was happy to spend time signing banners, badges, photos and anything else that came to hand. A star indeed!
@hornerfanclub
Ending the year in our favourite blazer
Totally swoontastic, goes with everything, perfect winter warmer. Oh, he was at the Renault F1 headquarters.
It's a merry Christian from us...
Hornettes the world over wished for a tweedy package in their stockings this year.
The Hornettes get a mention in The Red Bulletin
We may be an unofficial fan club (for now) but we did get a mention in the November edition (p10) in an article about Seb and Red Bull Racing. Not bad.
The CHFC word is spreading...all the way to India!
We are loving the mention in The Times of India. All important aspects of Horner appreciation covered in the first two paragraphs - the bouff, the tight trousers, the witty repartee. We are taking over the world continent by continent. Watch out North America!
